No one rejects, dislikes, or avoids pleasure itself<\/strong>, because it is pleasure, but because those who do not know how to pursue pleasure rationally encounter consequences that are extremely painful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n Nor again is there anyone who loves or pursues or desires to obtain pain of itself, because it is pain, but because occasionally circumstances occur in which toil and pain can procure him some great pleasure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n But in certain circumstances and owing to the claims of duty or the obligations of business it will frequently occur that pleasures have to be repudiated and annoyances accepted<\/strong>.
